The Aloha United Way Board of Directors approved KAMP Hawaii’s application for Partner Agency status. This approval means that KAMP Hawaii will be listed on their website www.auw.org and in their campaign materials as an eligible organization in 2014. KAMP Hawaii has met all of Aloha United Way requirements since 2008.

KAMP (Kids-At Risk-Mentoring Program) Hawaii, Inc. Honolulu — Executive Director Aaron Kamau Life Mentoring Programs has been selected to receive a grant from the National Football League Foundation (NFL Foundation) through its Pro Bowl Community grant program. The grant program provides funding for youth-serving organizations in Hawaii in celebration of the 2014 Pro Bowl.

 “A big mahalo to the NFL Foundation for its donation to our Life Mentoring Programs- The KAMP Classroom Outreach Program, Outdoor Camping Enrichment Program, Summer “Pride and Victory” Healthy Lifestyle Program, Special Needs Outreach Program, After School Enrichment Program and the Anti-Bullying Lunchtime Program.  To date, KAMP Hawaii’s specialized programs have affected over 60,000 Hawaii at-risk children.  The Island Insurance Foundation donates $15,000 to Kids At Risk Mentoring Programs (KAMP Hawaii)

HONOLULU – The Island Insurance Foundation has donated $15,000 to the Kids At Risk Mentoring Programs (KAMP) Hawaii in support of KAMP Hawaii’s Life Mentoring Programs. Tyler Tokioka, President of the Island Insurance Foundation, presented the $15,000 check to KAMP Hawaii Executive Director Aaron Kamau and current camp participants at a presentation ceremony held at Lincoln Elementary School.

Kids At Risk Mentoring Programs (KAMP) is a Hawaii-based non-profit organization, that focuses on disadvantaged and at-risk youth in the community. KAMP Hawaii’s goal is to make a positive impact and make a difference in the lives of the youth of Hawaii by improving the attitudes and learning environment of Hawaii’s youth.

KAMP Hawaii’s 6th Annual Golf Tournament Recap

The KAMP Hawaii 6th annual golf tournament, a tournament to raise money for “at-risk” youth and youth who are specially challenged in Hawaii, was held on May 30th. The tournament was incredible as 48 teams showed up to support KAMP Hawaii and our “at-risk” youth.

The tournament raised over $38,000 in funds. Proceeds from the tournament will enable KAMP Hawaii to sustain its mission, “KAMP Hawaii will work with our youth in their formative years to build a solid foundation for family, community, state, and country. The investment spent on our youth now, will pay huge dividends in our society and for the future.”

RECEIVES $5,000 GRANT FROM

FIRST HAWAIIAN BANK FOUNDATION

      (Honolulu, Hawaii, March 29, 2007) – KAMP Hawaii has been given a grant of $5,000 by The First Hawaiian Bank Foundation, the charitable arm of First Hawaiian Bank, according to an announcement by Don Horner, First Hawaiian Bank’s president and chief executive officer. The funds will be used to support KAMP Hawaii’s Life Mentoring Programs.     KAMP Hawaii-“Life Mentoring Programs” board of directors and staff would like to extend a big mahalo to First Hawaiian Bank Foundation for their generous gift. This gift will enable KAMP Hawaii to expand its current operation to the Leeward Coast said Aaron Kamau, Executive Director.       Kids at Risk Mentoring Program (KAMP) Hawaii is a non profit organization that focuses on disadvantaged and at-risk youth in our communities.  We are currently working in conjunction with local public schools, charter schools and private organizations and over 6200 students.  With over 19 years experience, the KAMP Hawaii staff and programs have a proven track record in mentoring at risk youth on O’ahu.     First Hawaiian Bank Foundation is the charitable arm of First Hawaiian Bank. During 2006 the foundation and bank contributed $3.4 million to more than 360 non-profit organizations. KAMP Hawaii Golf Classic

KAMP Hawaii is hosting its second annual golf classic. Please join us for a fun and exciting event and fellowship with friends. We are currently seeking underwriters and participants to play in our tournament. All proceeds will benfit our KAMP Hawaii Outreach Programs. 

Last years event drew 153 participants that raised $25,000.00. This years event will be coordinated and led by Elroy Chong and Shay Yanagi. Mahalo for your help.

KAMP Hawaii-”Life Mentoring Programs” Inaugural Golf Tournament played at Pearl Country Club on July 6, 2006 played host to 153 golfers and 10 Underwriters.
The golf tournament was a huge success under the direction of tournament chair Mr. Elroy Chong, Mr. Shay Yanagi, Mr. Arnold Hirotsu and Mr. Aaron Kamau.
