The Aloha United Way review committee has approved KAMP Hawaii’s participation into their Donor Choice program. This approval means that KAMP Hawaii will be listed on their website www.auw.org and in their campaign materials as an eligible organizations in 2008.

It was just a tremendous turn out on March 27th at Pearl Country Club for our 3rd annual golf classic. We saw 57 teams, 9 key donors, 8 food and beverage donors for course play, 35 prize and silent auction donors, 1 marketing donor and 1 multi media donor play a vital part in making this golf tournament a very special tournament.

RECEIVES $5,000 GRANT FROM

FIRST HAWAIIAN BANK FOUNDATION

      (Honolulu, Hawaii, March 29, 2007) – KAMP Hawaii has been given a grant of $5,000 by The First Hawaiian Bank Foundation, the charitable arm of First Hawaiian Bank, according to an announcement by Don Horner, First Hawaiian Bank’s president and chief executive officer. The funds will be used to support KAMP Hawaii’s Life Mentoring Programs.     KAMP Hawaii-“Life Mentoring Programs” board of directors and staff would like to extend a big mahalo to First Hawaiian Bank Foundation for their generous gift. This gift will enable KAMP Hawaii to expand its current operation to the Leeward Coast said Aaron Kamau, Executive Director.       Kids at Risk Mentoring Program (KAMP) Hawaii is a non profit organization that focuses on disadvantaged and at-risk youth in our communities.  We are currently working in conjunction with local public schools, charter schools and private organizations and over 6200 students.  With over 19 years experience, the KAMP Hawaii staff and programs have a proven track record in mentoring at risk youth on O’ahu.     First Hawaiian Bank Foundation is the charitable arm of First Hawaiian Bank. During 2006 the foundation and bank contributed $3.4 million to more than 360 non-profit organizations. The foundation funds educational opportunities, access to health care, services for children and youth, human service needs, and the many ways that arts enrich our lives.       First Hawaiian Bank ($12.0 billion assets) has 62 branches in Hawaii, Guam and Saipan. Founded in 1858, it I sHawaii’s oldest and largest bank. .

This gift will enable KAMP Hawaii to continue to serve “at-risk” students and students with disabilities in our communities and to fulfill our mission statement.

KAMP Hawaii Golf Classic

KAMP Hawaii is hosting its second annual golf classic. Please join us for a fun and exciting event and fellowship with friends. We are currently seeking underwriters and participants to play in our tournament. All proceeds will benfit our KAMP Hawaii Outreach Programs. 

Last years event drew 153 participants that raised $25,000.00. This years event will be coordinated and led by Elroy Chong and Shay Yanagi. Mahalo for your help.

KAMP Hawaii-”Life Mentoring Programs” Inaugural Golf Tournament played at Pearl Country Club on July 6, 2006 played host to 153 golfers and 10 Underwriters.
The golf tournament was a huge success under the direction of tournament chair Mr. Elroy Chong, Mr. Shay Yanagi, Mr. Arnold Hirotsu and Mr. Aaron Kamau.

Above all, the tournament created a day of fellowship and fun among participants and volunteers.
