The pursuit of the following principles.

  1. Teach Positive Values - KAMP Hawaii will teach the importance of making good choices, having a positive view of one's self, and personal growth in our schools, our homes, and in our communities.
  2. The Importance of Teamwork - KAMP Hawaii will teach our youth the importance of working as a team, and by working as a team you build positive, productive, community-minded youth.
  3. Leadership Skills - KAMP Hawaii will teach leadership through communication, role- modeling, and group facilitation with positive outcomes.

KAMP Hawaii focuses on building character through activities that foster sharing and caring besides cooperation and trust. Our students and their classroom teachers no only enjoy the many hands-on experiences, but they enjoy the KAMP Hawaii staff. The staff is exceptional! I've been a part of this staff and their program since 1983 while at Dole Intermediate, Farrington High and Mililani High School. (I hope this program comes to Molokai.) I have been an educator for almost 30 years. My biggest enjoyment as an educator is watching children enjoy learning. KAMP Hawaii programs provides our children with many practical besides humanistic learning experiences; but, throguh its staff's true love and caring for children, our students experience a deep "kind of joy" in learning.
