We welcomed our new participants with open arms. It has been five weeks since we started and the participants are growing stronger and they are filled with excitment as we prepare for our Outdoor Outreach Program. Time sure does fly when students are preparing for their spring outing.
KAMP Hawaii was recently awarded $5,000.00 from the NFL Pro Bowl Charities and participated in the Kick-Off Rally with Frank Supovitz of the NFL, Mayor Mufi Hannemann and NFL All Stars LaDainian Tomlinson (San Diego Chargers and 2006 MVP of the NFL), Lorenzo Neal (San Diego Chargers), Steven Jackson (St. Louis Rams), Troy Polamalu (Pittsburgh Steelers) and Keenan Forney (Atlanta Falcons-U of Hawaii) it was a fun event. It was great for KAMP Hawaii.

NFL Charities Pro Bowl Grant Program Awards $5,000 to KAMP HAWAII Honolulu, Hawaii –
NFL Charities Pro Bowl Grant Program recently awarded $5,000 to KAMP Hawaii. The grant will be used for KAMP Hawaii’s “Life Mentoring Programs” expansion project on Leeward Coast of Oahu. KAMP Hawaii-“Life Mentoring Programs” board of directors and staff would like to extend a big Mahalo to the NFL Charities Pro Bowl Grant Program for their generous gift.
This gift will enable KAMP Hawaii to continue to serve “at-risk” students and students with disabilities in our communities and to fulfill our mission statement.
Formed in 1973, NFL Charities is a nonprofit organization that enables NFL teams and their players to contribute collectively to charitable causes on a national level. NFL Charities, which has approved more than $70 million in grants to more than 250 different organizations since its inception, donates approximately $10 million in grants annually to support the work of current and former NFL players and to provide funding in the areas of education and youth services, and sports-related medical research.
