Great Day of Mentorship!

In the Heart of Kalihi! Great Day of Mentorship!

On Friday, January 20, 2006, Hula Bowl football players spent time at Kae’wai Elementary School and Dole Middle School in Kalihi.

The Cornerstone Bancard Hula Bowl Players were treated to a great time at Kae’wai Elementary School. Thanks to Mr. Dale Spaulding and his fine staff for preparing their students for this visit. The players were greeted by school administrators, students and volunteers and given leis. The students asked the players many questions and the players did a great job of answering them.

The main message to the students from the players was:

  1. Give your best in everything you do.
  2. Stay in school/study hard.
  3. Listen to your teachers and parents.
  4. Stay drug free.

The visit was in conjunction with CSSS. The students were on their best PA/GLOW.

The students at Dole Middle School were treated to an after school visit. The school bell rang at 2:15 pm and hundreds of students had a chance to interact with the Cornerstone Bancard Hula Bowl Players. The students spent time talking with the players, getting their autographs, and having fun. The players received school shirts with great enthusiasm. Thank you to Mr. David Pila, Mr. Agenhart Ellis, teachers, counselors and their support staff.

Thank you to Leilehua High School for attending this event. They had built a flag pole using wooden poles and raised the American flag. What a great display. Thank you to Mrs. Billie Lairsey and her counterparts for driving their students to Kalihi. Great Job!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank owners Nick Logan and Rick Beggs. Also to Cindy Lisk and the entire staff of Cornerstone Bancard Hula Bowl for supporting the youth of Hawaii.
